Did F22 Engined cars come with the digital dash?

Or was it the analogue one?

I'm looking at a JDM lude on Friday and the current owner isn't 100% in the know, I don't want to travel 400 miles to find that the damn car is an F22

He has said the dash is the digital one so is that an indication that it is a H22 powered girl?

Thanks

Dave

I think the S models only came with the regular guages not the EL.

Well, when he says "digital dash", he might just be referring to the gas/temp gauges.

Sorry Tyler I should have been more specific, I meant the EL Gauges

Did the Si come with the ELs? or was it purely the SI VTECs?

Thanks

Dave

Wouldn't the redlines on the tach be different anyways. I thought only the H22 had the higher redline, not sure though. Someone should know that. I guess I really didn't help.

The Si did come with the EL gauges just like the VTEC models in 1994. I don't know about the S-model though, but I would assume the same?

if its a JDM lude it should be a h22. I don't re-call any jdm 4th gens w/out a h22. S models never came with the EL-Gauges. Only si and vtec models above 94 came with the el-gauges.

^^ Ok, first off, there were JDM Preludes that came with F22 (I am 95% sure of this), as for the EL Dave, it's hard to say because JDMs are different in ways we may not even know from USDM models. Just ask him to check the engine code, it's pretty easy to get to/see, even for, as you say, people not in the know (where the exhaust manifold meets the head, pan left)

Lol, just thought of this, but the F22 that i'm pretty sure came in certain JDM Preludes were not VTEC, so just ask him if the spark plug cover says VTEC on it.

The F22 in JDM Preludes was the DOHC F22B similar to the H23 here. According to Honda of Japan, the Prelude only came with the H22A or the F22B over there, no F22 SOHC engine.

If the gauges are like they are in the US, then both the F22B and H22A cars should have the EL gauges.

vtec is not on the spark plug cover, vtec is on the valve cover, which the DOCH VTEC is below the spark plug cover. The spark plug cover has the Honda Logo on it.
