I have a chilton repair book. and it tells me that the plug for the diagnostic is under the dash near the center console. I've been down there for hours looking for it and i havn't a clue what it looks like. can anyone explain to me or even better show me where the heck this plug is??

I think it's blue and behind the Radio, attached to the Radio Frame.

Cigarette lighter not working

I think it's the blue plug (Male) in the pictures in this thread.. Mine was pulled out by the shop that did my swap, but I haven't been back there to check to see if it really is it..

If you have a 1996 4th gen, then you have an OBD2 port, if not, you're OBD1.

its a 2 prong blue connector. the 2p con should be inside the center console next to two other 3prong connectors. taking the center console out should do it easy but you could just take the radio out...

you dont need to take the console out, mine just slips out from behind the plastic where the clutch is, right at the back
