Definitive ABS Light Fix

This is what I need.

I have read a few posts and they have given a few different solutions. So I pose this; What are the possible fixes for this incessant problem.

My car specifically speaking has perfect braking, I got new rotors, pads, just bled the lines...she stops on a dime. However when I take extended trips the ABS light joins me for he WHOLE ride.

{Possible Fixes}
...Pull the light
...Pull the fuse
...Replace the whole ABS unit
...Clean ABS sensor

Now, I'm all for having my car work perfectly...but I'm not rich....at all. So I'm gonna go ahead and pull the fuse today and see what happens. If it still persists, I'd like to have a backup plan in the wings.

So hopefully this thread can not only help me out, but others who need a defined solution.

^^^ how do you plan on routing the brake lines? Since the modulator unit also acts as the propotioning valve you will need to replace it with something or the brakes won't work.

I have been wanting to remove the system for a while (currently have the ABS computer unplugged) but I don't know what to do about the lines.

Aren't there individual wheel-spin sensors as part of the ABS system?

Hmm...seems like more and more people just want to remove everything, just like me. I don't think my ABS ever worked. I cannot wait to get rid of my ABS light being on. I just wish I could have a fully functioning car, but I guess you just have to kinda give up on that dream after your car is 10/10+ years old. Mine's only a 96, but you know it was made & sold sometime in '95.

You'll need new brake lines from a base model and the proportioning valve. From slhondaparts.com the lines and the valve would cost around 350$ + misc seals and small parts you might need.

umm if your ABS light is on that normally means there is a problem in the ABA?!?! Get the code pulled if you want to fix it and keep your ABS. Mine was on for a while and when I pulled the code I needed to replace the ABS Accumulator & pump assembly, $1000 part

Check the ABS code and download the 93 Helm from the icelord.net site and check the troubleshooting procedures to see what you'll need to fix.

Pull the codes and get it fixed.

I had a pump fault code on mine, replacement part was big money,

Found a free fix to the problem and now it works fine. About 2-3 hours work to take off and refit pump and modulator

Hi,
it seems I need to replace the pump motor of my ABS system, and I was wondering if you could briefly explain how to replace th modulator/pump unit (maybe pictures) since you did it.
Any help is appreciated.

thank you.
