Dead Radio

The other day my radio was dying and coming back on and I took it out. Ok, then right when I take it out...its very hot on the left side of it with a ton of sparks flying everywhere. First thing I did was plug it back in, only to find that it doesn't work anymore.

Round 2, I go home and stick back on my OEM deck and still no power...

Round 3, replaced the fuse in the engine compartment with a 10amp fuse. That is an OEM fuse for the clock/radio fuse. It was not blown.

Now I am totally lost as to how to get my radio back into action. Not that I don't mind listening to my exhaust all day, just that I'd rather have something to jam to.

Any help my way is appreciated. Thank you luders!

hmmm. the sparks were flying from the plug? maybe some of the wires got loose, sparks might be indicating that the wires are touching each other.

Nope, I double checked all of the wires and everything was wrapped up in eletrical tape. None of the wires came loose either. I wonder if there is another fuse that I could check to see. Someone said that I need to reground something due to the radio cutting off when I turned up the bass to 5(10 is max). It has to be something else since my OEM radio does not even turn on either. It gets power though, my cd player can still eject cds. If that is a sign of power getting to it.

For some reason, when I turn on my DRL, the head comes on. The player won't work but the lights on the player will turn on. Does this mean something, I am sure that the wiring splice was a success. I am thinking something really werid came loose.

Thanks for looking.
