Dc Header

i was thinking of putting the dc 4-2-1 headers on my lude, does a shop have to do it or can it be a do it yourself thing, and if so are there any other part that u have to buy to put it on?

lets see

If your getting a decent Header im sure your Stock Exaust will be too small to line up. You will prolly need to make some adjustments to your pipe or get an Exaust while your doing the upgrade. But i dont really know anything so if anyone knows better go ahead and correct me.

no you dont have to have an aftermarket exhaust but its almost pointless to do header before exhaust anyways because if you do then youre just bottle necking after the header anyways. id suggest getting exhaust first, then header. i have a dc sport ceramic on my lude and its pretty nice. looks really nice for about 3 months or so, now its not looking too swift.

If you are handy with tools and cars you can do the header yourself, if not find a good shop that can do it for you.

I would suggest if you don't have an aftermarket exhaust to wait until you do. The stock exhaust is too restrictive to get the most out of a header.

When I had my JR header installed I had a custom 2.5 inch cat back exhaust, that exited out of a Dynomax muffler. Even so I went with a Random Tech cat and found that I got even more out of the header after the high flow cat was installed.

yeh you can do it yourself if you're mechanically inclined. Another thing you might want to change is the manifold gasket. and like the others said its best to have an exhaust too. I had DC header on my car for at least 3 years with no problems.
