daytime running lights not working like i wanted

ok so i have been searching and searching and couldnt find a straight answer.

i have jdm 1 pieces that i decided to go drl with. i wired the h4's so they are high/low. i then wanted to make my h1's daytime running lights or to act as fogs. so i was searching google and found THIS and decided to purchase the insight drl module it was talking about. i got it and hooked it all up today according to the diagram on that page and the wiring instructions that came with the module.

my question comes in here. the module will make the h1's come on like theyre supposed to. then when i turn on my headlights, they turn off. i want mine to stay on while the lows are on but turn off when i turn the high's on. how can i do this? ive been at this since earlier today and am tired of searching and guessing.

i know that hondas work off a ground system where the power is always running to the headlights so how do i get around this?

all i want to know is how do i have drl with the lows on and off when the highs come on?

please help me out with this im tired of giving myself a headache. once again i searched already but couldnt find a straight answer so thats why i posted.

hmm......i'm not sure if i have the answer you're looking for but i'll just throw this at you:

when i wired my jdm fogs one of the wires (orange) that connects to the switch serves as TEMPORARY ground, which enables the fogs to be on when the lowbeams are on but disconnects the ground then i fick on the highbeams therefore shutting off the foggies.
Perhaps if you tap that wire into your module and conect it accordingly you may get the results you want. This wire is part of the foglight switch connector that's found next to the mirror control switch in 94-96 models
I hope this can help you

see i have a 92 so i dont think i even have that wire. on the unit though, there is an orange wire that is supposed to act as a disabler if the ebrake is on. is there a wire somewhere i can tap that into so they turn off when the highs come on?

Your car should be prewired for factory foglights.

ok i figured it out (well with the help of someone on another board). so if anyone wants any info or wants me to do a write-up, ill see what i can do. since i already have it done, i odnt know how many "along the way" pictures i can take but ill do my best if the interest is right.

background: this will be for a jdm headlight conversion where you make the h4 high/low beam and make the h1 a daytime running light where it comes on when the car is turned on, stays on when the low beams are on, and turns off when the high beams are activated.

here are pics of my final product. some are with just the drl, some are with drl and running lights, some with drl and lowbeams and i believe there is one with just high beams with drl deactivated. http://photobucket.com/albums/v235/savesth...thedayrock/DRL/

let me know what everyone thinks!
