Dash Removal

I need to do some work behind my dash and was wondering who here has taken theirs off, and if they could; tell me (and those for the future) how?

no helms? well its pretty easy honestly. start by removing that plastic panel undernieth the top lip of the dash, its above the gause assembly all the way across.. then theres bolts on each end of the dash if u open the doors... then theres bolts undernieth the glove compartment i believe. U have to take out ur shift console, and theres two bolts on each side of the center hump in the floor. The *****ingness part is dropping the steering column. take off the plastic panel, and ull see two 14 MM bolts... take those out and watch ur head, the steering column will drop to the floor. Get a friend to help you pull the dash out its heavier than a biotch. OH ya font forget the short connector for the the pass air bag (if u have one).

sorry for the short post, gotta go to work

all you have to do then is remove:

1. both tweeter covers

2. 8 screws from under the dash visor

3. little screw and divider between the main gauge cluster and the sub assembly

4. the smoked lens that covers the fuel gauges,

5. unscrew and remove fuel/temp gauge assembly and pull the bulb from behind

instead of going through the pain to take the dash out to get to the ABS bulb... why not just pull the ABS fuse? That will make the light turn off, and brakes will work like normal... just no ABS (which doesnt matter since it doesn't work anyway)

Your better off painting the bulb black and leaving it in. Once the ABS system figures out it has a missing/burned out bulb, it will set the check engine light.
