Dash Looks?

So, I have a 92 lude, but I would love to get a 5th gen dash. Does anyone know what converting this would entail? I don't know the specific measurements of anything, or how it'd work... I just thought it'd work better when I install a turbo. There are many more "stock" looking gauges and accessories for the 5th gen dash. Any ideas?

Somebody asked this same question a few days ago. Realistically, it's not worth doing, as you would have also adapt the 5th gen door panels and console to complete the look. If you've got an unlimited supply of money, then go right ahead.

Is there any way to possibly mount Autometer Gauges behind the plastic on the passenger's side? I attached a picture where I want them. But do you think the LED's would show through? Or would it just look stupid?

Sure just depends how much you want to spend.

Yes. You need to fab a piece of plate to mount the gauges to the pod area. But why? I'm not a huge fan of the dash, either. But you're going to destroy the continuity of the interior by installing aftermarket gauges.

I don't think they'd be very visible, but you're not going to get much more than speculation from me looking at pictures. Try it and see.

^honestly you just need to take the dash apart and put them behind there. You remove the clock / fuel gauge over.

There are a few here and there on PO. Now if you want a step by step account with pictures and someone holding your hand, then no, there probably isn't going to be one.

I would only put Defi gauges or better in my car.
