Dang, what a setback. . .

getting ready to drop the JDM H22 in tomorrow, and two of the spark plugs were covered in oil (literaly drenched). I don't know exactly what the problem is, but I dont think that can be good.

I'm starting to think it might me the rubber valve cover grometts. But how would that get the electrodes covered? I guess there could just be a little poll in the bottom of the plug hole, so the electrode gets coted when the plug is removed. There was a slight amount of oil running down the insides of the plug holes where the faulty plugs were found, maybe like 2 or three drops down the side of each one. There really was a LOT of oil on the plugs, the tip looked like one big drop. I'm thinking (by the laws of gravity) that if oil was coming by the rings, it wouldn't be hanging out on top of the combustion chamber for too long. At least the O-rings and valve cover gasket are an easy fix. . .I'm PRAYING thats the problem!!

Maybe the guy was a dumbass when he added/ took the oil out, cleaned the valve cover, but not the plugs?

Heh, I guess that could be the case. . .maybe the dummy spilled oil all over the valve cover during a fill up. In any case, I think I'll replace the ) rings and gasket for piece of mind.

I had that problem when I got my h22, though not as bad.
I replaced the vavle cover gaskets when I did the valve adjustment while the motor was still on the pallet.
