damm SQUEAKING

my car makes alot of squeaking and noises, a little louder in the morning or when it colds out, but either way it makes squeaking throughout the day, hot or cold.... i was wondering what anyone thought it would be? you think my bushings are old? if so, would replacing them solve the squeaking? because i can not take it anymore, it is annoying the hell out of me, and anyone have any idea how much instalation on all the bushing would be?

is it the typical squeaks from the rear suspension? If so you need to get shorter collars on your shocks or grind down your current ones about 2-3 mm. Completely eliminated all squeaks back there.

Curious... my Prelude squeaks from the driver's side front area, most especially when the suspension has any sort of vertical movement (ie, getting in/out of car, going over bumps, some turns if there's an elevation change.) It's a squeak like a louder version of what a spring on a bad bed does. Any idea what this could be? It's driving me nuts...

i have front and rear camber kits, and a tokico illuminas/skunk2 coilover combo, and i dont have any sqeaking at all. Altho i did have mad sqeaking when i was on my springs and stock shocks. When i took them out they were blown and rusty all around, whcih made sense, every time i went over a bump or something big nuff to trigger the shock movement, it sqeaked, like on pavement road for example, it was constant. I didnt know what it was so i had a friend drive my car while i was goin at every angle i could front and rear of the car while he was drivin in order to try and hear where it was comin from. The problem went away as soon as replace my suspension setup. I havent had a problem since. The ride is smooth and quiet.

I too had some major squeaking problems with stock shocks and ebay coilovers. I replaced my suspension setup with the Tokico Illumina kit (tokico shocks/springs). The squeaking isnt as bad, but for some reason the knocking got worse. I hear a lot of squeaking coming from the back when it's cold. And the clunking is terrible, sounds as if the struts need bushings. Not too sure though.

oh ok, i was wondering why it the gap was major, 45 is a lil small for 15s. I m downgrading haha, goin back to stock, but goin with 215/50/15. Do you have any close ups of of your stocks ? Is that gunmetal with polished lip ? looks nice from your sig. My 2nd set of stock is goin to be polished on the outside, and black/clearcoated inside the spokes wrapped on some BFGs gforce sport. My friend is a sick painter, he ll hooked that up, so it should come out nice.

Am i the only one here with no squeaking ? i find that very strange. Did all of you install your suspensions yourselves ? I did and made sure I had eveything secure and in the right order. May your shocks are wearing out, or maybe your springs arent good. I remember My shocks where close to being blown if not already when I had my stock springs. I only started hearing the squeaks right after I install the springs. I found a way to kill it temporarly but it would always come back. I would go tighten the bolts the top part of the shocks under the hood, using the Allen Key inside of it and get it tight. But after a week or so, it would come right back, so i upgraded suspension and never heard a sqeak ever again.

I had the squeaking, but found out the problem, for me anyways.

It was my lower ball joints in the front. I havent had the time to replace them so I just poked a little hole in the boot and filled it up with white silicone grease (yep ghetto, but works).

if any of you have a squeak from INSIDE the cabin around your driver's side tweeter, there's an easy bulletin for that. Otherwise, I have a new set of rear ES shock bushings if anyone is interested, and as long as you use the proper grease (boat/marine trailer bearing grease or whatever it's called) and enough of it, you shouldn't have any problems. I have no squeaks, but I think I've got some shock knock in the rear.

did you use poly-u bushings or the stock rubbers? Grease is a must with poly-u, but not for the oem rubber. I think it may or may not happen, there's plenty of moving parts in the suspension system, and stiffening things up may just cause something to squeak.
