These 3 buttons outlined in yellow, used to light up, and work / dim etc.. perfectly! Till about 2 days ago.... Now they are DEAD, no light up, nothing.
The RED circle here shows The buttons in which ONLY the top indicator light works on... I pressed two of them to show you which lights work .. the little green / amber lights on top of them all across that panel, work perfectly fine.
The GREEN circle here, shows which buttons work perfectly, both the top indicator, and the icon itself.. still light up.
Now, my questions are:
1.) What is behind there, that could stop working to create this strange problem I am having?
2.) Has anybody else had this problem before.. with any of those buttons working partially, or not at all?
3.) How do I remove the panels to get to the source?
4.) How do I fix the problem?
I'm going to die laughing if it's as simple as a fuse, but I highly doubt it because the problem is VERY strange.
I had no idea the icons were even supposed to light up on the center console buttons. Mine have never worked. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful, hope it gets fixed easily
Damn! Yeah, they are supposed to light up, All of the icons used to light up on my car... but all the sudden they have decided to stop working and I hope we find a fix for it soon, sounds like you need to fix yours too!
I cant even figure out how to get the whole thing out of there, with out breaking it. I removed the two bottom screws after removing the console, and if I pull on it, it bends.. will not come out at all .. I'm not sure if theres a good way to get it out of ther.e. maybe I'll look at people who have done the JDM climate control conversion, they must have a write up of how to remove the panel to get to what ever is not lighting up?
The roof/cruise/dimmer switch panel comes out in one piece, with the switches still in place, it simply pops out if you carefully prise it out with a flat screwdriver or something similar.
As for the heater control panel, I'm almost 99% certain that there are a couple of screws at the top (above the vents) that hold it in, besides the ones you've already found.
Hopefully someone can confirm this for you.
My dimmer/cruise/sunroof switches had their bulbs all burnt out, but the indicator lights still worked. I ordered the replacement bulbs from San Leandro Honda, and it's working perfectly fine now. Like U.K. VTEC said, you just need to pop out the switch panel using a flathead, and unscrew the switches from the panel. From there, you remove a little brown colored plastic screw that houses the bulbs. It's the same for all of the switches.
I have the heater control problem, and although it might be the bulb, I think that it's more of an electrical connection problem. Search for yohan420, since he did a FAQ on how to resolder the metal connections in the climate control.
interesting... cause mine have been going out aswell. im pretty sure it just needs to be resoldered cause it went off one day, went back on a few days later, then went off again. and all of them did, not just one.
thats a common issue...the leds die after a few years...either buy a new cluster...or change em out yourself if you got some good soldering skillz...

LED lights, dont have a filament to go out, you're basically seeing electricity contained inside a small glass environment inside an LED light source. If there are LED's in there, It would boggle me as to how they stopped working other then lack of power source. (like a lot of you mentioned.) I will try to take the dash apart and resolder it if I figure out how to remove the unit with out breaking the trim on the front of it.. that bit seems to be stuck in there pretty good. Maybe I can pry it out with a screw driver? How many screws are holding it in? 2 or 4 or more?
i know i wont be trying to tackle this problem for at least another two months. its just too damn cold to work on the car. but it would seem pretty easy to even replace the leds once you get everything apart. just gotta get the right type of led.
