Cylinder 4 Problem

Hey guys,

I've been searching and digging every where to hopefully get a lead but no dice so here is some info:

1994 Prelude Vtec MT
New LMAs, New Timing belts, Valves adjusted .008 exhaust - .007 intake, Compression 200 all the way 1 to 4. New Spark Plugs currently gapped at .44 and tested at .42. Strong Spark comes through all 4 wires and spark plugs. Vtec spool assembly functioning properly. No CEL codes. The head was blue printed and reassembled. New gaskets all around as well as fresh oil and coolant. Much more...

Problem:
Cylinder #4 is not working properly. Compression is 200 and there is spark. If I remove the spark plug wire from it, there is no change in response from the engine. The response is as if cylinder #4 is not making combustion at all. I out of ideas on troubleshooting. I posted most of the things I might get asked before hand. Also I appreciate any help that can be provided

CTSSF: Check The Simple Shït First.

1. Does cylinder #4 receive spark?
2. Does cylinder #4 receive fuel?
3. Does cylinder #4 have a piston in it?

Thnx for the reply! Its in the first post; there is great compression and spark on cylinder #4 which covers 1 and 3  . I have not yet confirmed fuel, but the injector's inductor is working and clicking. But that doesn't necessarily mean there is fuel as the injector could be clogged.

CTSSF = so true, I almost rewired a car due a blown fuse.

I like to think also the combustion needs:
*Air - which is good
*Fuel - confirmed injector circuit working, but have not checked its flow
*Spark - which is good

What would be a safe way to check for fuel in cyl. #4?

u said thers no cel??? if u have a misfire then the cel should be on or blinking. check to see if u have codes.

as for the injectors. take off the fuel rail and check the injector 4s screen filter inside the top of the injector, clean if needed. now swap injector with #3 injector and reasemble the fuel rail. restart the car and see if the missfire is still on #4. if the misfire moved to #3 then its a bad injector. replace all 4, not just 1.

Thanx thats a good tactic, will post with an update with the results.

Well the CTSSF worked. It seamed my neighbor put his hands in the engine and fiddled with the spark plug cables. When I took everything apart I readjusted the valves where num #4 was off somehow and started putting everything back and noticed something was off. Took number 2 and 4 wires off while the engine was running... MFKer put #2 on 4 and #4 on 2. Anyway it was good anyways since I needed to readjust the valves on #4 and had a chance to clean the injectors. So its all good now. So yeah CTSSF freaking CTSSF!!
