custom 4thgen prelude sway bar endlinks
ok well after a lot of hard work i finally made some enlinks for my 4thgen lude. as some of you know the 5thgen enlinks will not work on a 4g because of how the top end connects. anyhow, i figured out a way to do it and had a machine shop custom make me the studs so i could buy the right spherical ends and put together an adjustable endlink. i finished them on friday in time for the autocross events this weekend so i could test my prototype. well they work great and there is no knocking like the progress ones for the 5g do. of course, only time will tell whether or not they will do that anyway, but with the right ends you'll probably be fine.
anyhow, because of all the expense i went through in developing these studs, i was hoping to sell some of them to make up for at least a bit of the cost that went into them. ie, setup, materials etc. i'm not looking to make a profit at all, so if you guys are interested, just let me know. i'm going to sell a pair of the studs for 55 dollars plus shipping, and you guys can buy the ends from whichever distributor you need. the spherical ends for these will run you about 80 bucks total, more or less depending on which ones you go with. i personally used aurora bearings and bought them from a local distributor. the studs will require an upper right hand thread 16mm end. and the bottom requires a 7/16 in left hand thread end. i did this because on the top you have to have a 16mm head and the standard ends are much cheaper, plus the progress bar particularly was designed for a 7/16's bolt. i'm not sure about neuspeed or suspension techniques, but would guess it's the same if not similar. you'll also need to buy the miscellaneous bolts and washers etc. so plan to spend about 140 for everything total. i know the ends seem a little pricey, especially compared to what you pay for the progress ones (80ish), but if you ask anyone with them, they'll tell you real quick that the ends wear out fast, most likely due to using cheap spherical ends and not the chromoly ones.
if you know anything about how these sway bars work, you'll see instantly that using spherical ends will clean up the slop given from using rubber, and you'll be able to adjust them to whatever length you like. plus the oem ones are only 8mm thick, and if you plan on doing any competition racing, or even just hard driving, they will probably snap. more so on the larger bars like neuspeed and progress.
so anyway, i'm only going to make a few, probably 10 pairs so if you guys are interested, please let me know.
