The crappy cupholder on my 93 prelude broke (part of center console). I was wondering if anyone knows of a good place to get a cheap replacement. I've been checking the local junk yards, but can't find anything.
The cupholder was an option. It was part of the center console that you bought later. Just wondering if anyone found a good place to get a replacement.

Yes, exactly. . .but I've never seen an "optional" cupholder for earlier years. I've seen the big storage bin console (I have one), but I wouldnt put drinks in there. I guess its always "optional" to put one of those self-adhesive ones on somewhere. . .
Wait, so you have one of those already? Never seen one in a US or CAN Prelude. . .is your whole car a JDM one? Thats actually really nifty. I'm not convinced it will work with BOTH the 92-93 and 94-96 console though. You obviously need to have the little soft cushion thing between the rear seats and not the big storage bin like mine.

Oh no, I don't have a 4 gen, I have a 5 gen...and this isn't my auction. I was just browsing through ebay when I came across this and thought of your thread. Just thought I'd help you guys out a bit. Sorry for the confusion.
Yes, I already have one of those in my 93 prelude. I bought it from the dealer and installed it myself, since there really was no glove compartment in the car. The cup holder is inside the armrest like the picture shows. I was hoping only to get the cup holder part, since the armrest is in great shape still. That's why I was looking at junk yards.

So you got that JDM cupholder/console at an american dealer? crazy. . .
I don't have a pic but I can explain to you where it goes. This thing mounts right above the parking brake handle. It pretty much takes away all the space between the two back seats.
As far as this being a JDM part, I forgot to tell you guys that I bought the car at the beginning of 94 and bought the part at that time too.

yeah, i just looked at the diagram from hondaautomotiveparts.com and figured out where it would go. i didn't realize that the 93 center console was different from the 92 and 94-96 models. apparently they got rid of the long center console in 93, but kept the same ebrake location and didn't include an armrest. then in 94 they moved the ebrake to make room for the cupholder and added a glovebox between the front seats. at least that's what appears to have happened, at least in the si model.
