cupholder for 92-93 preluders

I'm just curious how 92-93 preluders are coping with the lack of cupholder(s) in their car. I mean what substitutes are you guys using if you guys are. The lack of cup holder is really starting to annoy me.

I use the crack between my seat and the door. As long as you drive reasonably then you won't spill it. Take your cup/can and put it in right beside your hip and slide it forward. If I don't have my woman in the car to hold it for me

Peace

Well, guys, its not a drink and drive issue for me. But more of a fast food issue. Cause driving with 1 hand stick, its tiring. Anybody have cup holders? Like aftermarket ones.

If one of you guys ever hits me, a member of my family, one of my friends, or my dog, because you were trying to drink, eat, talk on the phone AND drive a car with a manual transmission all at the same time. . . you better hope you die in the crash. If the impact dosn't kill you, I will.

Why do you want a cupholder. . . so you can have one more thing taking your attention off driving?

I was driving to take the ACT test's two years ago and decided to stop for some coffee to get me awake that early in the morning. I had had the car for like 3 months at that point and had never tried using that holder behind the e-brake. I put my nice hot coffee in it and started driving... I think it took about 2 minutes before the coffee spilled all over the place . Since then the only thing that goes in that holder in change for the parking meters, and chapstick. Now if I want to have something to drink in my car I just bring a bottle of water with a handy screw on top. Usually though, I dont drink while driving... to much of a distraction.

One of these days I'm gonna try this:

Since my 92 has no passenger airbag, I am going to take one of those dremel thingys that cuts perfect circles and I am going to cut one or two perfect circles right on the console, in front of the passenger, where there normally is an airbag. Then I am going to hunt down some cupholders that will slide right into the holes makeing them flush. It's kinda hard to explain though....

Everyones prolly like now. But one day I promise.

I've learned my lesson drinking and driving...Every time I have coffee in my car it spills!!! Combo of no cupholder/rough driving does it every time...

Don't drink & drive, you might hit a bump & spill your drink!!! Especially in a 92-93!!!

red92s: I have followed your situation for a couple months, and can't tell you I know how you feel! I am sorry for your loss!
I think you need to loosen up just a little...When I read your reply I felt tons of tension in it!!! I can imagine it's tough, but it will get just a hair easier to cope as the days pass! At least you were able to say goodbye! More than I can say for those lost to tradgic, sudden death...I was never able to say goodbye before my friend hit the lightpole 2 years ago! Or when the 2 kids I went to HS with were wiped out by a drunk driver!!! Life goes on, as bumpy as it may be at first, the road will smooth out eventually!
Keep your head up bro!

I love my family, friends, and dog. I hate people who feel it is appropriate to: eat, drink, put on makeup, talk on a cell phone, watch in-dash TV, play with kids in the backseat, read, or perform sexual acts while driving (or any combination of the above). How is this in any way related to my currently difficult personal life.
My previous post was only slightly motived by the past 7 weeks of my life. . .i am now much more protective of my family and friends.

BEFORE everything went down with Sarah, I was a firm advociate of outlawing cellphones while driving. Driving has become such an everday activity, we forget just exactly what we are doing: controlling 2 tons of steel moving at 60 MPH. The implications and responsibilities that come with driving are enomous, you should be completley focused on the task at hand. . .not fumbeling with your coke wedged between your seat. And yes, I feel GUILTY for having a modified stereo in my car, thats just one more distraction (a friend of mine broke their neck when the ydecided to screw with the radio and hit an underpass support column at 45 MPH).

Did it ever occur to anyone that maybe Honda decided not to put a cupholder in the Prelude so you can focus on what the car was ment for: DRIVING?! Maybe they added one later becuase fat-ass, spoiled americans demanded one. If, by chance, you are driving for a period of time where it would be necessary to re-hydrate yourself, keeping a water bottle or other sealed container in the back seat provides an easy, safe, way to get a drink.

I really DO appreciate every once of support this board has provided me in this difficult time. However, I refuse to believe the last 7 weeks DEFINE and CONTROL my emotions and actions. In short, I'm not being a hard-ass because my girlfriend just passed away. I was a hard-ass since long before that

Sorry for the long post, I cant believe I typed all that FOR A DAMN CUPHOLDER!! whew. . .

I open up the console and stick it in there, wedged between the front of the console and my cd case. Works great.

I think it's more of a distraction to NOT have a cupholder. I accidently curbed one of my stockers badly the night I first got my lude when the Tacobell cup tipped over........
