crazy... I know...

Hi all, this is like my second post here, and in fact I dont have my lude yet, but I should be getting a 4th gen sometime in the near future.
I have a really insane and possibly stupid question...

so please don't laugh too hard...

What would it take to drop a V6 in a 4th gen?? I mean realistically... would it even be possible? and if so.... would it be realistic to mod the entire trive train to a rear drive??

Ok, so now that I've asked the stupidest question.... thanks

I don't think it's that stupid of a question, but you'll get hit with a hail of "Who cares about a V6, just drop in a H22a block" posts.

Personally I haven't heard of such a thing being done. But it's been quoted over and over on this board, "With enough money anything is possible."

I say if you want a rear wheel drive car that looks good, drives good and isn't too expensive, a non-turbo Supra would meet this requirement.

That'd cost a chunk of change

Id spend the money on a japan spec s15 silvia. With the money left over, you can buy a house or yacht.

I would be mad hard. For one thing it would stay FWD, the only logical swap would be the Accord V6, one problem, even though they put the V6 in the Accord, the hood and fenders were made longer on the V6 model so it probably wouldn't even fit as the Ludes engine compartment is probably smaller.

Thats funny cause my wife is in love with the RX7...

Thats also funny because I had already actually though about the CRV drivetrain.... of course that would open up the option of all wheel drive... which would be even more dificult if I get an Si4WS..... hmmm... I suppose if I win the lottery.....

It sure would be good for "Gee, you dont see THAT very often!" value...

Do you have $100,000 lying around?

Just wait for the new EVO to come out, or get a WRX. I promise you it will be cheaper to get a 400hp EVO/WRX than to get a reliable AWD V6 lude.

From what i've heard, the CRV AWD system is crap. Have you ever seen the rear axles on a CRV? They look like twigs.

They are twigs... but with the money it will take to make all this work I am guessing he will be able to afford some beafier replacements.

it would prolly be easier, cheaper to fabricate somthing else, use a frame/ drivetrain from another vehicle.. then somhow apply a prelude shell....

put a prelude shell on a crv, maybe rx7, or other drivetrain u are interested in... of course body work would have to be done to make it fit, cuting, chopping, stretching, patching and the like.... pretty hard core stuff

You destroy everything that defines it as a prelude by trying to make it something its not...
