Crankshaft TDC position?

I am replacing timing belt/water pump on my 96 Lude SI. Does any one know if I need to keep the timing balancer belt drive pulley at TDC position? I borrowed two pictures from fellows at preludepower and the left pulley on the second pictures is what I am talking about.

Or it will be automatically kept in TDC posisition as long as the timing belt driver pulley(first picture) is aligned corrected?

Yes, keep the balancer at TDC while you install the timing belt.

The timing belt & balancer do not always line up together at TDC. I think for every two rotations of the crank the balance shafts will line up at TDC along with the crankshaft. Just make sure you line both of your balance pulleys to the TDC marker as well as your timing belt when you do the install.

After the belts are installed and everything is tightened down, double check (actually this should be the triple check) to see if everything lines up properly.

I know that the front and rear balancer pulley need to be at TDC when the balancer belt is on. But there's no mentioning of the balancer belt driver pulley (the one that stays on the crankshaft gear) in the Helmes manual at all. So I guess I don't need to worry too much about it as long as I have the camshaft/crankshaft gear/front&rear balancer pulley aligned at TDC position?

Everything should be at TDC when you are installing your belts.
