Could you get VTEC Ludes with an auto tranny???

I was curious because a guy I met said he had a 94 VTEC Lude with BOTH 4WS AND auto tranny. I didn't believe him. I didn't think you could get EITHER option with the VTEC models.

I know you could get the VTEC Del Sol in auto tranny so that's why I ask.
Thanks.

Not here you can't. In Japan you could get a auto VTEC, don't know if you could add 4WS to the mix from the dealer.

If he swapped in a JDM Auto H22, then it's believable. If not, he's full of it. There was never a USDM Auto H22 in the 4th gen, nor was there any H22 in a 4WS chasis in the US.

If you can put a manual si tranny onto a h22 engine, and you can swap an automatic si to a manual si, than i figure the automatic si tranny would replace a manual tranny on a si, sooo the automatic tranny from the si should be able to fit the h22, it just dosnt come stock like that. Hmm i dont even know what i just said somone help me out.

in US all 4th gen vtecs are manual...except for mine ...in japan they have a 4th gen auto h22...you are able to buy the tranny and bolt it right up to a h22 and have vtec and be able to hold a drink while driving (hand equals cup holder in our cars)

Have you run your car at the track? I'm curious as to how much slower than a 5-speed a regular auto VTEC will be.

I wouldn't say alot. When I was looking to buy a lude, I looked at a few cars that had already been shipped here. I took out an auto H22 and it didn't hang about!! It was pretty quick off the line too.
If you come up against one, don't underestimate it....

No heel-toeing and rev matching for you. You can hold a drink between your legs when driving or steer with you knee when you have to shift.
