Cost of swap?

Sup guys... I haven't been around in a while. Got out of the whole car thing. But I kinda miss it. Anyway, I came across some money so I was wondering the cost of getting an H22 Swapped into my Si...I saw somewhere it was $1850 for seems like everything you needed. The only problem is my car is an auto and would have to be converted to 5 spd. How much extra would that cost? Also, any of you weekend warriors in Florida can do something like this for a fee? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance...

It depends on how much you can get a tranny and engine for. $1850 will get you started. Depending on where you live in Florida I might be able to help you for a small fee.

If you're lucky, around 5 grand w/ installation...

If you get the same luck that most other people get (normal pricing), then expect to pay around 6grand or more to get the engine swapped as well as the tranny swap...

Engine swap is easy. I would do the labor for like 300$. Im just saying by myself thats how much i would charge. But it can be done in one day, possibly 2 with problems.

I always get my stuff at Hmotorsonline.com because they have good prices and there local for me.

Before we get back on topic, I'd like to clarify with you that I didn't mean anything by that. I just meant, "yeah, I bet the tranny conversion is harder. That's all. BTW, what's my "issue?" Just curious.

Tranny conversion isn't hard at all. When I did mine it took me about 3 days to finish (I start working on my car around 11am and stop by 5pm). Prior to the swap I only know how to change oil and install shocks/brake components in my car. I know if I do it again it'll take me probably 1 full day to finish. The hardest part would be lifting that heavy tranny. If I do it to a fellow luder I'll just charge you $100 + food and beer . Too bad you're in Florida BTW total cost for my whole swap was around $1k.

Hey King Dingaling....how much good is a Helms gonna do you when you don't have the tools you need?

Back to the swap... Why can't any of you guys be in Florida?? I would take you guys up on your offers.....I have about $2400...which if I can get the engine and tranny for $1850, should be enough to buy my clutch, flywheel, etc...am I correct?

It would be a good idea but unfortunely all i have is pansy friends
but i love my mechanic hes the best i wish he had a dyno station though, my friend who has the 3rdgen wants to change his engine, for mine and my mechanic says it would take him 1 day and half. I watch and learn but uhhh mechanics is not my area.

Well if you are doing the tranny conversion while your doing the swap you wont need to lift the tranny caus it goes in with the engine. The rest of the conversion shouls be cake.

i paid 4000 exactly. i had a clip sent over from singapore to do the 5speed conversion and had some guys in MD do the work. The jdm swap had to have been hot because the springs and suspension stuff didn't look used at all, and the gauge cluster read 4XXX km. who knows.
