Cooling problem...

Hey guys,

A few days ago I noticed my radiator fan was going on after I had turned off my car and it would never do this in the past. Then my radiator began to leak and I could tell that it was the radiator itself and not any hoses, so I replaced it last night. I filled up the radiator and bled the system, however I was driving to work this morning and I noticed that my temp gauge was going higher than usual. This first happenned when my radiator was leaking badly yesterday just before I replaced it. I am thinking one of two things:

1 - I may have not added enough coolant and the new radiator has not been filled enough.

2 - I may have a bad thermostat

I am not sure what my next step would be, should I replace the thermostat?

Thanks.

I would like to add something which I noticed when refilling the system with the new coolant. When I unscrewed the bleed bolt on top of the thermostat housing, nothing came out and I was under the impression that the coolant should flow out of this hole like when you bleed the brakes, am I wrong? Could this be a possible problem?

Drive a little bit, let it cool and bleed again.

pretty much could be problem... like pter said... drive it a little bit untill the fans come on... then bleed it... b/c you want that thermostat to be open..

if you had a no spill funnel.. it helps out a lot
