cooling issue

i have to consantly fill up my overflow and im just curious how to fill the radiator up because im sure your supposed to bleed it or some ****. im suspecting a leak but i dunno. seems like its chugging the coolant. car overheated last night so i need to address this.

1. Remove radiator cap
2. Check coolant level
3. Fill if needed

Are you getting white smoke out of the tailpipe? Any visible coolant leaks?

no white smoke. no visible leak. some **** told me not to put water directly in the radiator with preludes but i guess more ****s coming out of his mouth than actual words. the overflow gets emptied every three days. doesnt seem normal to me.
