I was wondering.......i know that usually one fan turns on at a certain temp....and the other turns on when you turn the A/C on. But i just realized today, that both of my fans ONLY turn on when i turn the A/C on.....anyone know if thats how it is supposed to be for this particular car? I have a 92 lude h23a

Is your engine overheating?

If it's at 220 and the passenger side fan is not turning on you have a problem. Most likely a bad ect switch on the themostat housing and/or thermostat.

That doesn't mean anything. Both fans are supposed to turn on when you have the a/c on. Your fan should turn on around 198.

oh ok, i thought one should turn on at a certain temp...as you say around 198, and one should turn on when the A/C is on. Both fans ONLY turn on when i turn the A/C on.

Fans

I had something like that happen to me and my engine was way to hot, im driving a 92 Si. I changed my thermos and that did it. Now, when i put the key in the car with the engine off, one of my fans turns on, when i start the car it swaps around and the other one turns on with the first off. I never run my A/C so im always running one fan. My car stays right in the iddle of the temp display so im good, but im never running with both fans. change the thermos, that might do it.
