Console swap

I know this topic has been discussed and I have search po.com but, I need specific questions answered from anybody that have done this swap.

Considering that I have a 93 prelude

I know I have to weld the E-brake handle even after aquiring the 94+ E-brake handle

On the 93 prelude the mirror controls are on the drivers left side but for the 94+ prelude the controls are on the console. So do I leave the controls or do I run the wire to the center console. Also how hard is it going to be?

The E-button on the 93 is round and the one on the 94+ is square. Is it an easy swap?

These answers will determine if I want to do the swap or skip the swap

I will appreciate any help.

Also, does anyone know if the old e-brake cable is long enough for the updated console?

I haven't done the ebrake part yet but for the hazard switch you can use the same harness but you need to move the location of some of the pins on the connector. I had a partial writeup done for it but it got lost in a HD crash so I don't have it anymore. if you really need the pin locations i can look at the connector and write down the wire colors and what pin number they should be in.

I have done the swap on mine, I got 94 prelude leather for my 92. For the mirrors, i just moved it down into the space at the bottom of the door so i wouldnt have to cut any wires. All the seats and the door pannels went in perfectly, when it came to the center console i took the old one off and was ready to weld the ebrake from the 94 on and i could never get it to fit right so i just said screw it, went to the junk yard and got the center console out of a 93. Now everything looks good.

I just got mine installed today. Everything fits perfectly and the ebrake connection point had to be customed. We cut off the metal rod from the old ebrake handle and weld it to the rod of the new brake handle. That way you don't have to replace the ebrake cable. The ebrake is still attached at the same place.

I didn't hook up the hazard light yet since I read that the pins are different. I would like to know which pins goes where.

No, no. The ebrake handle has been welded to the new position but the old ebrake cable wasn't long enough to reach to the new position so the guy weld an extension using the rod cut off from the old ebrake handle so it would reach where the old ebrake cable is bolted to. That way I won't have to change my ebrake cable.

So can you tell me which wire goes where on the new hazard button?

yikes...this post is still alive.....hmmmm
I guess I gave up on this idea cause of the same problem about the E-brake cable. So I went with the arm rest for the 93 prelude and no regrets.
