Are connecting rods worth it?

I found some dirt cheap brand new pistons the other day and bought them. the same guy is also selling some new rods as well. But I'm thinking "Do i really need the new rods if I already bought lighter and stronger pistons. I mean how much stress are they really withstanding with lighter pistons?" Whats your guy's input on this? I was just going to get new bearings and call it a day.

Oh and where can I find a full valve kit, aka valves, springs etc.. in one package?

It depends on what your future plans our for your engine.
The stock engine is only designed to handle the stress associated with its normal peak output power, torque and rpm limit. If you plan on making just N/A enhancements, your gain over stock will be trifling so you can just use the rods you have.If you going to add things like a turbo,NOS, super charger or plan to rev your engine to infinity and beyond , stronger rods are a must if you don't want to end up caring your engine home in a box as shown below.
The willingness of a person to install parts that don't add any additional hp but improves engine survivability and durability when used in extreme environments is what separates the men from the boys in the field of engine tunning.
