Connecting Rods

I am having a h23 short block built. Sleeved, bored 1mm over, balanced, 12:1's, polished crank and rods shot peened and hardened. I read some where that stock honda rods can take up to 300 hp. Has anybody read that before? I don't think I will be at 300 so I should be safe.

Tom,

I will be building a VERY similar (almost identical but only in an H22a) setup as the one you listed. And I will be sticking with the stock Rods as well. I think it was SCC that listed the parts are good to over 300+ or something and the crank was good all the way up as well. Sorry I can't confirm the exact number.

Thanks for the reply. I will research further and post later.

Keep us posted.
I'm interested in how a high compression H23 would do.

umm... I dont get it. Spend the extra $$$ and get some nice rods. You're taking apart your motor, so you might as well do it. It would suck if a stock rod bends for any reason. I dont know, I wouldn't feel comfortable driving on stock rods with your setup.
