Compression test anyone?

Hey, So I was driving my h22 today and the water pump went.... So I will need to replace that guy, but I fear it may have scorched my rings or messed up something internally... Is it possible to do a compression test with the motor still in the car? Also Is it possible to get the timing belt off and replace the water pump all without removing the engine? I think I may try it, but need some advice or warnings first.... Thanks in advance

you don't need to take the motor out of the vehicle to do a timing belt job. Just do it on the car.

Hey, have a quick question about the cam gears when doing an alignment job... Can someone take a picture of their engine at Top dead center? Do you put the cam gears both up relative to the valve cover or is it parallel to the ground?
