I plan on doing a compression check on a 96 prelude si I'm going to be buying. What readings would be indicative of an engine in good condition for this car?

As long as the numbers are close to the same for each cylinder
example: 190 - 190 - 185 - 190
that's just an example

example#2: 200 - 190 - 175 - 170

that would be a good indication of a "bad engine" as you call it.
