completely uneven drop after installing H&R Race Springs
i had sportlines for a couple years or so and i wanted a change. the front right wheel gap was a little less than the front left.
well i put the h&r race springs on last night and drove it around for about 3 hours with a friend in the passenger seat. i checked out the gaps today and the entire passenger side is lower than the entire drivers side. i checked the perches to make sure they were the same on each side, and everything is fine.
i dont think it should take that long for the springs to seat in that upper piece, anyone have ANY idea? i was going to take it to get aligned today but i dont want to do that till my drop is even. if i cant figure out anything immediately im going to just let it be for about a week or two and keep an eye on any tire wear. if it hasnt settled im putting the sportlines back on and selling the h&rs. i figured things would be better with the h&rs.
i just dont understand why 1 complete side is lower than the other.

I dont know if its an illusion or what but the driver side of my S seems slightly lower than the passenger side. Its really noticable from behind. Im thinkin the car didnt settle evenly out of the factory or an extreme fatass owned it first. I dont know.
It's just like that.. the driver's side seems to always sit about 1/4" lower .. even on stock springs.. It's just with stock springs the gap is so big most don't notice it..
i dont notice it 'leaning' but the wheel gap is definately different between sides. im just concerned because i never could get a good alignment when one side is lower than the other- they cant get it 100% accurate on the computer, but when i take it out and drive it, it pulls to the right[obviously].
i just want my damn car to be able to get aligned for once.

The driver side will probably always be lower since it gets more use. I'm sure you've driven around by yourself more so than with a passenger. The struts probably wear out faster, as well as the bushings.
im wondering where the **** to buy the energy suspension bushing kits.. i guess im supposed to get the master kit and then the sway bar end links and bushings?

Be sure that the springs are nicely settled in the notch on the bottom spring perch. That is the only thing I could think that would cause that kind of issue.
Personally rather than buying something else to resolve the problem maybe a better idea would be to return the springs and get another set. They could have some sort of issue.
Keep this thread up to date.... I am interested to see what the final result is.
i emailed the seller that id like to return these springs for another set, but god only knows if it will happen. i cant really tell if its the springs or not- we looked at em and 1 did seem a little taller, but i went over there and looked for myself, and up close they looked even. who knows, i really think its the bushings though at this point
edit- oh yeah, i made sure when i was putting the new springs on that they were seated into their perches. 1 of them was a ***** to get the top part of the assembly on, so im riding on the possibility that THAT spring is giving me ****, and not seating into that upper part. im betting thats the spring thats messed up, if there is one.
i took it out for about 2 hours that night riding around, and then yesterday around back roads and bumpy ****ty roads for about 2 hours, then again that night for another couple hours with a passenger. still nothing better.

Take a look in the Honda Manual and go over the installation procedure that they outline. See if there is anything that is in there that you might have not done. Its a long shot but sometimes just jogging through someone elses procedures draws light on something that was overlooked.
If you installed the springs yourself..... as a last resort maybe you should take it to a trusted shop and see if they will look at the install or maybe even dissassemble and reassemble.
Another option you could try, and its a pain in the ass is.... Take out the spring and change the sides. Take the springs from the driver side and put it on the passenger. That would tell you right away whether its the springs or something else. Its a huge pain but.......
It's the car... not the springs.. every car does it.. just some cars more than others. Do a search you find it's very common. Even ask people with Teins. You will find that most of them have the perch a full inch higher on the drivers side to level the car out.
5th Gens are the same way..
Maybe your car was been bent the other way has it been in an accident? perhaps the fender is bent..
