common or not?

ok when i shift into third above 5K rpm it grinds. is this common wear n tear? what cuases this?

i got after market drivetrain. ACT 6puck act HD plate and jun flywheel.

its the synchro wearing out!

its been wrong with my tranny for a while now....

or just replacing the synchros would help it

they make better synchros, carbon synchros if i'm not mistaken

yes, they make synchros and i think they are cheap (less than $5 last time i heard).

BUT you have to either take apart the transmission or pay someone to do that - the labor could very well be over $500 and in that case, a new(er) transmission would be cheaper.

bad synchros are a common problem with hondas.... 1st and 3rd seem to be the most common on alot of civics, integras and preludes. Heck even the 01-04 rsx has tranny probs.... not to mention the automatic tranny probs on 98+ accords, ss preludes, tl, cl, etc... honda had to give lots of customers extended drive train warrenty. My sis got bumped up to 7yrs on her 03 tl-s.
