Coilover vs. Springs

I've got skunk 2's coilovers on stock struts and the ride is bouncy and wheel hop is bad. I really can't afford more than a 1 inch drop from stock because of my body kit, can anyone recomend a good coilover or spring combo with struts? I know Teins rock, but I dont need adjustable ride height, just a comfortable soft ride. TIA

Eibach Prokit w/ KYB AGX's. This way you can soften it up since the KYB's are 4-way adjustable.

Why don't you just keep the skunk2's and buy a good set of struts? Ride won't be bouncy at all.

If you really want TEIN's you can go the route I did. I didn't want to fork out the money for HA's because I don't autoX and knew that I would never be adjusting the ride height. I bought TEIN NR's which are a full coilover system but does not have the dampening adjustablity. The NR's are height adjustable but it is not as easy as the HA's. The NR's don't have a threaded perch like the HA's, but it has a C-clamp type perch which requires you to use a spring compressor to compress the spring and then you can move the C-clamp up or down to your desired height. It's more work than the HA's but if your like me and never anticipate raising or lowering the car then this is the system for you. It's nice to know that I can raise and lower it if I ever want to.

I beleive that TEIN is still making the NR system and you can probably find them for a decent price. Unfortunately I ordered mine when TEIN was just being introduced to the US and my system was included in the second shipment to ever hit the shores of the US so I paid a butt load for them including an import fee. I could probably pick up a new HA system now and have money left over for what I paid for my NR's over two years ago.

I have no wheel hop and people compliment on the ride quality comparing it to almost stock. No matter what suspension you have and how much you pay, it is still going to more harsh compared to stock but the TEIN systems are pretty good.

Good luck and I hope that helps you.

Mark

Mark is right, Teins are great. If you're looking for some NR's for a good price, talk to James Chan aka 98luder. He has a used set for sale on his website. Check this link - TEIN NR . Tell him Kevin from Manitoba sent you!! He'll hook you up decent.

I'm riding on Tein's too and I love them. After installing them, it felt like I got a new car. No bounce at all and it corners like it's on rails. If you go Tein you won't be disappointed.

Wow!

$580 for used NR's is a great deal. I would try to get them for $550 and call it a day! I wouldn't think twice about buying a used set of TEIN's.

Like Kevin said, you won't be disappointed with this setup.

Progress or Neuspeed Sport springs will work pretty well w/ stock struts... not too much bounce, but unless you get some good struts, you'll have a little bounce.
