Code 12 EGR problem - Honda Prelude Forum

My 96 lude SI threw a code 12 at me. Its got 91K miles. Is this a common or is there an easy fix? Anybody know where to start? I just picked the car up a week or two ago so I'm still learning my way around. Thx for any help. nate

This is a very common problem. Do a search on it, I'm sure you'll find everything you need to know.

twelve could be many things....this was what was causing my dreaded h22a hesitation, turns out my VAC lines were crossed.

also if you have a helms it should giv eyou step by step directions to help solve the problem, i have them scanned courtsey of VAPOR.

I doubt he has the same problem as you. The MOST common problem is the EGR valve getting clogged due to our engines running rich. The fix: take off the valve and clean it or just block it all together.
