clutch replacement

Just found out today that my cluth is gone, I can't shift into 3rd gear at all... it makes a horrible sound! So I wanted some opinions on what clutch to get.. I was thinking of a Stage 2, or maybe just stick with the factory clutch? what u guys recommend? is the Stage 2 hard to drive? thx

doesnt sound liek a clutch, sounds like tranny. when the clutch goes you can press the gas and the car would just rev up and go nowhere, i ve gone through 3 of them lol. anyways i have a centerforce Stage 3 and its really nice. kinda stiff pedal.

Could be synchros?

And if you replace the clutch I have heard no complaints from any companies that make clutches for our cars. So, find the least expensive and get that one (groupbuycenter.com). For a daily driver/weekend racer you can't go wrong with ACT HD=SS.

I have a ACT 5 puck springloaded. What stage is that?

Dude that sounds like you syncros for 3rd are going. Mine did also. Always 3rd gear first. might as well start looking for a trans and replace the clutch while your there.

I've heard RPS clutches are highly recommended. When it's time for me to swap I'll be considering exedy or RPS.

If your cluch is slipping, replace it. If you are just grinding, try putting Redline MT fluid in the tranny. It will help out a lot with the grinding.

Yup, me too. I think what Dr. James said about them pushed me over the top into buying one. The stage 3 is probably a bit more than I need for the streets, but w/ turbo, I don't want to be messing around, frying clutches left and right, just b/c I didn't want to make my left leg a lil' tired in traffic, ya know?
