Clutch pedal not returning - Honda Prelude Forum

Alright, before everyone jumps and tells me it's the master/slave cylinders: both were replaced just over a year ago.

My clutch pedal does not return fully when depressed. There is definitley line pressure (unlike with a bad master cylinder) and the clutch WORKS just fine, but the pedal only returns about 1/3 of the way out (I can use my toe to make it fully return). It almost feels like binding or friction in the return mechanism prevent the return spring from doing it's job.

I recently bled the system, and essentially all parts are new. This has been a minor annoyance for months now, the car is fully drivable. Is there a way to adjust the throw of the pedal?

this happened with me. i did the following:

make sure the fluid is full, i thought it was, but it wasnt. then when that is full, you can "backwards bleed" the system by pushing the slavecylinder in to push any excess air out of the system....try that

All better. I loosened the locknut on the master cylinder rod and unscrewed it about 2.5 turns. Easy 2 minute fix.
