Clutch pedal not fully returning when depressed. . .

This little problem started yesterday. If the car is cold (not driven in 5-10 hours), the clutch pedal will not return when depressed to crank the car. It returns some, maybe half way, and then kinda "sticks". I can nudge the pedal with my toe and it will spring out the rest of the way. If I firewall the clutch and row through the gears a few times while stationary, the problem subsides. A quick visual inspection reveals no leaks or any damage beneath car, and nothing "out of the ordinary" in the pedal assembly itself. Any ideas as to what the problem could be?

Check the clutch fluid reservoir. Open it up and have someone pump the clutch and look for bubbles in the fluid. The same thing happened to my friends Eclipse and it turned out to be air in the hydraulic lines. No big problem. Just pump the clutch pedal until there are no more bubbles, and then top off the fluid reservoir.

wouldn't you have to bleed the clutch fluid? I replaced my fluid before and I had to bleed it to get the air out (similar to bleeding the brakes).

You might have to bleed. I have never dealt with air in my ludes clutch lines. On my friends eclipse he was able to just pump the air out.

any other symptoms I could look for to give me a better idea what the problem might be?
