If you guys could give me some opinions on these units, I mean not from reading the specs of each unit. I want some opinions from people that have actually used them. Thanks alot guys! I am confused as hell right now.
I run the JUN ultralight and ACT HDSS. I like the set up a lot. I would probably perfer the 6 puck plate though over the HDSS. Mine grabs like a mofo tho. The JUN is chromoly surface and weighs about 11 pounds. There are other companies that make aluminum flywheels that weigh around 8 pounds that are replacable surfaces. These companies are Clutch Masters, Fidanza, and I think another one but can't remember. Your stock flywheel weighs about 22 pounds, so either of these flywheels will have a dramatic effect on torque transfer. Oh and you will get worse gas milage because you will love the way it feels runnin' that throttle up, especially if you have a vtec motor. Let me know if you have any other questions. here or email tra822@home.com
no numbers.... but the butt dyno says it's quicker. The thing I noticed most is when you shift from 1-2 while racing the car has a hard jolt and anything laying around flies back. This didn't happen before these mods. Also the tires can bark hitting 3rd, and if you get a clean shift to 3rd that's where the meat and potatoes is. I mean that is when I jump ahead when racing. I got the mod at the end of the season last year and the breakin period on the HDSS sucks so I didn't make it to the track. I'm anxious to get to the track next month. hehe... I believe it is the best mod I have yet.
I'm considering the ACT HD SS set up now. The CM stage 1 is abou the same price and not as good. The CM stage 3 I think is too $$ and probably I little over kill for my purposes. I'm just looking to make a few runs at the track every once and while and then need noice smooth engagement for commuting.
As for flywheel, I want to find a local shop to lighten it. I found www.sohfast.com which sells lightened units for $150 and you get $75 back with your old flywheel. I concerned about going to light for traffic that's why I'm thinking this route may be better.
Otherwise The CM flywheel can be had for a good price and weighs 9lbs. Bgod, has it and likes it even in traffic. Fidanza is 9.5lbs I think, but costs about $50 more.

I like it, it's starting to lose some grip after 2 years though. But that could be my clutch fluid
I can't recommend the stage 3, mine would never last beyond 3K miles or so.
I like the CM flywheel though.
My longest lasting combo was actually a hybrid, Centerforce dual friction pressure plate and stock honda disc. It had excellent holding power, and longevity I couldn't get with many of the aftermarket set ups I had tried.
I have heard that RPS makes a great clutch, but I don't have personal experience with it. Dr. James does though, and with his knowledge I would go with them.
If you want a good clutch then the ACT is fine. If you want a GREAT clutch than go with an RPS unit. They are tops in my book. I have used both there atage 2 and 3 units. For a slightly modded car go with the steg 2. It uses an RPS pressure plate which is custom made not a modded stock unit. And the stock disk. This unit is very strong, and I would compare it to the way an ACT HDSS feels. The stage 3 is the best. It uses the RPS Pressure plate and Turbo carbon disk. They come is 4 or 6 puck disks with either a sprung or unsprung hub. For a daily driver with mods, or future mods or whatever go with the 6 puck sprung hub. They grab like no tomorrow, and hold like hell. I use the stage 3 in all my current cars except the porsche. My Supra is putting out well over 600 whp and 550 ftlbs tq. It has never slipped, and is great to drive in traffic. In the Prelude it is a Great clutch. I have used it for FI and NA duty. During break in the stage 3 will chatter a bit, but after it drives like the stock unit. It is a bit lighter than a stock unit as well, so the shifts feel more crisp and precise. it doesn't require a leg of steel to operate like the ACT xtreme PP. On the 6 puck it uses 3 carbonite disks and 3 Kevlar/Ceramic disks. The srpung hub reduces driveline shock, and prevents premature wear and tear on Axles, Diff, tranny etc. For the money the RPS can not be topped. I have tested about every clutch out for the Prelude, and this is the one that I recommend.
