clunking noise??

heyyy

so, when i used to hit bumps in a certain fasion, i would hear a clunking, kind of like metal sound from my front pass tire. Now, i hear it on every bump, it kind of sounds as though something may be loose. but it kinda sounds like metal on metal. any suggestions before i start ripping stuff apart?

If you have coil-overs like groundcontrol, skunk2, OBX, VIS, etc... check the perch and the spring to make sure the spring is not hitting the perch, it may have sat wrong the last the car was riased up and then lowered back down. I had a set of GC do that to me. The passenger side perch split almost in 1/2 due to the spring sitting wrong and grinding away the perch.

Can you hear it also when you make corners??
Try moving the tire with your hands left to right, if you hear it, than try moving it back and fourth if you hear it than that could be a bad ball joint or a tie rod. Id also jack it up check the shafts to see if any cv boots are torn or anything. hope that helps bro!

i dont have any modified suspension setups, everthing is stock.

I'll try what you said Jon, i just wanted some input on what to look for before getting under the car. And yes, if i'm cornering it will make the noise also, but only when i hit bumps.

As mentioned above check you CVs, additionally check the lower ball joint, the radius rod bushings/shims and possibly the shock itself.
