Clock, AC, Fan, Bulb Light -- all connected???

Hi Folks,

I've been having dash electric problems. Clocks starts spinning, AC doesn't work, Fan doesn't work, Brake light light comes on... Then the next day, Clock works, AC works, Fan works, Brake bulb light goes off... (All these seem to be on the right-hand side of the dash, that's what makes me think they are somehow connected)

Are these connected somewhere? Is there some connector up in the dash that is giving me problems? Believe it or not, if I park in the garage overnight, I don'thave the problem. If I leave the car out, I do. We live next to the coast, so I'm thinking moisture, salt air, etc. Then when it drys out it's ok.

Am I nuts?

If I'm not, and this is a "known bug" -- then where is the connector, how do I fix it, how can I get to it, etc. Or is it something else?

Let me know, I appreciate it,

Fred

Check the fuses? I would start from there.

Yes, that's what I'm thinking. And certainly the best suggestion so far.

I have a feeling that ultimately these circuits are connected somehow, maybe through a common ground or fuse, and that the connection needs to be cleaned.

I downloaded the wiring diagram and so far I can see that the clock and bulb check are connected through pin B28 (page 14) which is a black wire -- I assume black means some sort of ground on these cars...?

Thanks,

Fred
