climate control, any help needed, problem w/ ac (long)

I've made post before, but haven't got alot of luck yet. I have a 93 si w/ a flickering A/C switch on the main climate control head unit. I recently took the whole head unit part out myself (the dealer wants over $500 for a new part and labor) and noticed that when i move or shake the green wiring harness below the unit the light flickers. I don't know if i need to replace the harness or the entire electrical control part. I woud hate to spend 50 bucks from a junk yeard to find out that cheap harness is the problem. Any advice could help. It's starting to get cold and i need to get of my ass and fix this, my windows are starting to need the defroster.

Most people seem to tell me that the problem is the solidering and the connections in the head unit have gone bad because of vibration over time. They say that there is a way of re-soildering it so it works as new. But i have no clue how to do it and don't know anybody who can for me. If anyone knows anybody if this is the problem or can give me advice, it would be apprecitated. -morgan

mine flickers too, all the lights actually, it's just how they are... if you get a junkyard replacement it'll prolly do the same thing, best thing to do is remove it, remove the casing and get a soldering iron and strengthen all the solder joints, i've yet to do it but i'm sure it's not too difficult

I have the same exact problem, haha weird to see you all have it as well

but with mine my A/C will not work so I have to hit the dash to make the light come on the A/C button then it works, and its like 100 degrees here in Austin hahaha so it gets annoying,

also the whole climate control flickers as well

Is it difficult to take the climate control out so I can re solder the joints?

I used to have the same problem as well... (hitting the dash to make the AC light/compressor come on, LoL). Like i posted before, just open it up and touch the solder points, you'll find some loose ones I'm sure. I didn't repair mine though, I just bought a JDM CC... which is what I recommend you all do, as it's well worth it!
