Clicking noise from brakes?

There is a clicking noise coming from my rear driver side wheel well area. Its like a metallic clicking sound. pretty loud too. Its not constant. Any ideas what the problem is?

it could be your exhaust. after you run your car for a while, and then you are driving slowly, thats the time you can hear the clicking. its the resonator. if your have a aftermarket exhaust, its most probably that.

drive your car slow and have someone listen for where the sound is coming from. or leave in neutral and rev up to see if the noice comes. if noise is only heard while driving it will be from a moving part or something loose so you would check suspension parts, exhaust hangers, and stuff like that. narrow the noise down first and we could help you out more

Sounds like it could also be bad CV joints.

to see if its your exhaust resonator, after a long drive, park and turn off the car, if you still hear the clicking noise, its most probably the exhaust resonator, if you dont hear the clicking when the car is off after a long drive, we can rule out exhaust.

did you have recent tire service? On my racing harts a small nut that secured the valve stem came off and it was laying freely inside the tire so when i was moving very slow it would bounce around inside and make this annoying pinging noise. At higher speeds centrifugal force held it on the tire so it wouldnt make any noise

jack up the car and inspect the wheel in question, turn the wheel and see if you can feel or hear anything odd. WHen i had my problem stated above that is how i found out i had some object inside the mounted tire.

who torqued your lug nuts ?? take off the tire, clean it off really well of any debris using brake cleaner, as well as the gung that croweded around the wheel hub on the front of the rotor from rust etc... make sure its a flush on flush surface, torque the lug nuts to spec and go for a drive.. the clunking could be your tire loose, also inspect the lug bolts on the wheel hub as well, make sure the threads aren't stripped or stretched.

well, your gonna have to be a lot more specific if you want a more specific response. give as much detail as possible. we have thrown a lot of stuff at you, you should check each one out unless you can provide some details so we can rule some stuff out.
