I used a heat gun on the first one, and then tried the oven on the second because the heatgun was sooo hard to use with only 2 hands. The oven worked EXCELLENT. They pulled right apart and they look great still. Make sure when you put them in the oven you face the taillight up. Good luck.

Meanwhile, can someone also tell me how to make a decent reflector, because the ones I made snapped in somewhat but then I had to use krazy glue to keep them in place, and when the glue dried it gives a foggy appearance on the edges. I wanna make replicas that can snap into place, without glue, but the plastic it too flimsy. How did you guys get your reflectors to stay put, did you have to resort to glue, or did you find a decent (non flimsy) peice of plastic that shapes well?

I use a dremel too cut a general shape of the turnsignal, then i use a belt sander to sand it down to the exact shape. I just got the dremel tool, and its alot easier with it...... I dont use any kind of adhesive, i just stick it in there and that's how it looks

use oven set at 250 , place in for 4mins to get warm and then 2 min at a time to keep the epoxy soft and pliable for prying apart when they start to cool down.

keep lense side face up in the oven

I used florescent light diffuser panels found at your local hardware store, very flexableand only about $7 a sheet
I also used a clear drying silicon adhesive to keep the lenses in place and prevent fogging, but I used it on the inside of the lens not the outside

Ok, I'm thinking of trying this myself too; I was gonna send em to OutlawLude but I hear he's backed up, and I don't wanna pile on more work for him. Would you place them on a pan/cookie tin, or just throw them on the bare racks? I like my steak with grill marks, but don't think they'd look cool on lighting assemblies.
