cleared tails, now what - Honda Prelude Forum

I cleared my tails and got them put back together, so now does anyone have any helpful hints on cleaning up the extra crap that squished out the sides in a few places? It doesnt wanna come off easy and looks like &@*$!

none came out when i did mine. what type of glue did you use? you need to find out what is good for removing that.

its the glue crap that was in there stock... i didnt add anything

i thought honda-bond was used as a gasket in the engine bay... and i thought it was black for some reason..

oh you mean the epoxy goo (grey/black) that was on the lens orignally?? and squished out when you tried to put it together??

just use a knife, try not to scratch the plastic lens in the process

im just gonna have to take the thing apart again and see if i can clean it up while separated.

how did you make the new clear lenses? Can they move around in the taillight or did you incorporate the tabs into them like the existing deflector so that it doesnt move?

i cut them near perfect size using a dremel... they fit in there pretty tight... but i used some black silicone around the edge in a very thin line to make sure.
