Sorry if this has been discussed, but I have tried searching for the directions and I couldnt find them.
Can anyone post the directions or scan a Prelude Service manual page and let me know how to do this?
Any help would be greatly appreciated, VTEC will NOT engage during cornering (and now that I have TEIN's that happens alot ) and I want to take care of this without having to go to a mechanic.
Thanks in advance

The vtec pressure switch it right behind the Distributor. I believe you need to only remove 2 skrews and the whole assembly will come off, well disconnect the wire first. There will be a little rubber gasket and a screen behind it. Remove the screen and clean it then put it back in. be carfull not to ruin the screen or gasket. Bolt it back up, connect the wire and you should be good to go.

I was just at a Honda dealership and they said that a lot of the time the whole solenoid for the most part gets clogged up?
My only symptom is that stated above... so could it be something else other than the screen? Oil pressure is fine (otherwise i SHOULD be getting the oil pressure light, no? )

No, you get the oil pressure light if you have like near no oil pressure. You need a decent amount of oil pressure for vtec to engauge. Have you checked your oil level?
I was a little low on oil, and I was comming off the freeway in a big right hand sweeper... I was looking and my oil psi gauge and it was dipping from the normal 65psi to about 40ish...
I think I was starving the oil pump for a second because I was a little low.
The Helms manual states that you need at least 57psi for VTEC to engage.
You might be low on oil. Try a big right hand corner and watch your oil psi if you have that gauge, the stock oil warning light comes on when the oil psi is below 7psi, per the Helms.
another common issue for vtec not engaging is the wire slipping out of the connector to the solenoid. Happened to me, i think the 6 puck ACT was responsible though. Tripped me out the first time it happened. I raced a 5.0 and had vtec in first and jumped on him pretty good. But the jolt from the clutch into second knocked the wire loose and he passed me with no vtec. Good thing was shifting to third restored the connection and i blew by him. hehe. I miss that car... B17 vtec has nothin on h22 vtec

well right hand corners is when it happens... im going to go outside in a minute to check the oil level, but it should be fine as I dont have any leaks and I dont hit VTEC all that much...
... I think I should invest in am oil pressure guage.

Its really easy to remove. Its 2 10 mm bolts i believe. Its not a big deal. Actually, it might be 3 10 mm bolts.
is this the bolt on top of the unit or on the side? i took of the 3 bolt on the top and cleaned the little screen in there. i was noticing that there are 3 bolts on the side. i was wondering if took them out would there be more to clean i really do not want to buy a new vtec pressure switch, its 236$ at my honda dealership.
someone correct me if i am wrong, but i believe there is bolt (10mm) on the front of the engine. its on the left hand side, right below the valve cover, looks like its not holding anything in. again get someone to verify that.
