cleaning intake manifold

whats that stuff you can suck into your intake manifold to clean it out? i remember reading about it somewhere and it cleans it. mines pretty drity and im not gonna pay honda what they charge to clean one.

nothing will beat r&r'n the plenum and cleaning it out by hand or tanking even.

ok, what about if i dont wana take it off? i remember theres some stuff you can suck in there, let it sit for a few mins, then run it out of there.

Just goto Napa or something and pick up a bottle of Seafoam. Leave the engine running and spray like half the bottle in there and let it sit. You can pull off any of the small vacuum lines on the intake manifold and spray it in through there. When your done letting it suck in, shut off the car and let it sit for a good 10-15mins. After that take the car for a drive and get on it abit so all the carbon gets expelled through the exhaust.

And the most important thing, MAKE SURE TO DO THIS OUTSIDE. It will smoke like hell, so you better turn on the car and immediately go for a drive,

we used another type of this stuff at one of the shops i worked at. it loosens some up and CAN give you some throttle back that was robbed from you, but a lil rub a dub dub is always best. dont go too crazy with that stuff either...a lil can be good, but a lot is not always better. your catalyst might hate you later on.
