Cleaning the inside of jdm's???

I bought a set of jdm lights for my car but it seem like the inside is kind of dirty....Looks like water stains or sumfin. Is there any way to clean the inside of the lights???? Thanks.

good ****ing question!

I bought mine BRAND NEW... now, after a year, there is crap inside them? how the hell does that happen, and how do I get inside? I was thinking about paper towel taped to the end of a rod, and inserted into the hole of the H4...

That sounds like it would work a little but I am sure there are spots that you just can't get to with that method.....Any other ways???

Try washing it out with distilled water. Since it doesn't contain any minerals, it won't leave waterspots. Then dry with a hair dryer.

either way it will require you to take the bumper off.

- remove turn signals

- unplug foglights (if you have them)

- jack car up

- remove fender and front stone guards

- take out the bolt inside the wheel well that connects the fender to the bumper

- remove two bolts on each side, behind the turn signals

- remove nuts off bumper studs, under the headlight in the engine bay.

- catch the bumper when it falls off.

arg - I'm gonna need a whole day for this....

I was going to buy a set, but they looked "dirty" as well. This sounds like a pretty common occurence.

I like the alcohol idea, but it does sound like a lot of work though. But for the original poster, this sounds like a good idea. DO your lights look like they have been opened? Deceptakon bought a pair for his car that were already opened.

No, they don't look like they have been opened...They just look like they had condensation in them and the water dried inside and left water spots...

if you take off all the metal clips they should come apart. sounds logical. i've got the same problem plus i'm already missing two clips. i'll try it later on.

umm...I think there is a easier way to take the bumper off. I take mine off all the time (about 5-8mins)

-bumper lights off

-four bolts behind bumper lights

-two bolts behind each headlight in the engine bay

-two screws on both sides by the wheel well where the bumper meets the fender.

- the 4 or 5 plastic screws where the vents are

-3 bolts near the radiator under the car.

the bumper should come out no prob.

you don't need to take fender or guard out.

i'd be careful if using alcohol i've used alcohol to clean plastic before and it fogged the plastic. But just my opinion.
