clanking sound

When I hit a bump I get a metal rattle sound. I posted a while back asking about it and it was suggested to me that it was the tie rod ends. Well I replaced the front tie rod ends and the upper control arm on the front right. I ended up replacing all the other ball joint boots, but the ball joints themselves are fine. I still need to replace the tie rod ends in the back, but it sounds like its coming from the front right? Any thoughts on what it is, my only guess now is maybe the strut. Any other signs I should look for to see if its blown. I already tired pushing down on the front of the car and seeing if it bounces, but it doesn't, and it doesn't appear to sag. Thanks in advance, I know I'm always askin stuff but my car appears to be a little junky, ha.

well I have a similar problem and someone suggested to me that it may be the axles, that the bearings are worn and have slop so when you hit certain bumps in the road it makes a clunk, I'm replacing mine in a week and I"ll let you know if it clears the problem. That sound is driving me up a wall too.

Also I think we all know that 4th gen ludes are oldies but goodies, things are bound to start making noise, but I'm not giving mine up anytime soon.

I had a metal rattle coming from my suspension and it turns out that one of the sway bar end links was a bit loose

yeah that would definately do it, I've already checked all my suspension bolts, I'm keeping my fingers crossed when I get my axles changed.

I'm getting the axles for 60 for each, and I'm installing them myself. so 120 I guess give or take. I know my boots are bad anyway so maybe it will be two birds with one stone.

A clunk I had up front was due to the radius rod being loose.

craig, have you checked to see if it's a broken spring? Although I would imagine that would make more of a crunching sound, it's still worth a looksy.
