Civic Type-R knob and boot vs. Integra Type-R

I got what I hope (and was told) is a Civic Type-R boot off of ebay. Came in the HONDA OEM bag so I know it's at least real, but how much different is it then the Integra?

I also got what I hope (and was told) is a Civic Type-R knob from Tornactive. The nut came in a HONDA OEM bag, but not the knob (although it seems right).

Anyway, I was test fitting the nut with the boot and I can't seem to cram it in there. Granted, I haven't placed it on the shifter yet (forbidden is in the mail) but I tried pushing it in there really hard.

How hard is it to get the boot on the nut, if I have an Integra boot and Civic nut could that be a problem?

As usual, any help is greatly appreciated (and yes, when I get it done I'll take pics).

Okay, my shifter came today. Here's updated pics of my problem.

see the nut? I can't get the top of the boot over it. I took a picture of what the inside looks like...

Is my nut not long enough or something? what are those 3 nubs inside the boot collar supposed to do?

The civic could have the lever coming up less so they would meet.

Naw, they meet just fine. I moved the boot farther down so you could see the nut...

Anyway, it occurs to me, maybe it's not supposed to meet? I've looked at several pics trying to figure out what's up...here's a pic of a civic type-r interrior. It looks like the metal part of the shifter is actually exposed right?

Nice boot

My shift knob fits very nicely with the boot, although I a Spoon knob, not the Type-R.

Ryan,
How does the boot hook to your Spoon (nice!) knob? Your boot is like mine with the 3 little nubs inside?

My boot is exactly the same. Those 3 little nubs that stick out hold the ring up. The shift lever is fat at the bottom, then at the top it's small. Right where the change in diameter is, is where the ring rests with those 3 little nubs. The Spoon knob threads onto the shift lever, and there is a little hex head screw you tighten to keep it from turning. So I threaded the shift knob all the way down until it was touching the boot ring, turned it so it was facing the right direction, and tightened the little hex screw. Piece of cake.

I think once I get mine installed it'll look like that...the forbidden shifter has a pat where it gets fat too and it rests on that and I'm thinking once everything is in, it'll be close to the knob. Thanks for your input guys. I'll post picks of my interrior when I get it done (probably late this month). I'm changing it all to black and adding the boot, recarro seats (black w/ red stitching) new floor mats, custom red and black door fabric/carpet, etc.
