Civic motor swap??

okay a friend of mine has 2000 civic ex. Its pretty slow so I though hmm maybe a prelude Si motor swap would be cheap and would get him up to 160 hp rated motor. I have a question though. Would u swap a h23a or a f22a and would it fit?

if your buying everything go with an h22 but if you have a spare h23 just do that, its really not about the hp its all about the torque so an h23 would make that civic alot faster than a b16. And its not going to fit, but they make weld in motor mount kits so you decide if your competent enough to weld in your own motor mounts or you can take it somewhere and theyll do it for you.

what about the f22a is that also prelude Si engine with 160hp. My friend can't afford an h22a I was just proposing the prelude si engine. The h23 won't fit so then what about the f22a?

Any F or H series motor will fit with an aftermarket mount kit. Check out the hybrid page at H-t.com and ***.net

it will definatley fit but this is not an easy swap a lot of custom modifications must be done to work properly...Ive seen it and driven in it. The problem with such a big engine is that you cant gain traction on normal tires because of the mass amounts of torque in such a light chasis....Done right you can run low 13s.
