Cigarette lighter not working

Hey guys, i just bought an ipod adapter and tried it out on my cigarette lighter/power socket and it didn't work

So, i decided to take off the plastic guard or whatever and inspect what was up.

it turns out that the cigarette lighter's not connected to any sort of wire/plug
so i checked both fuse boxes (under hood and near pedals) and didn't find any fuse that was labelled "cigarette lighter/power socket"
I know it's a 15 but i'm not even sure if i replace it, that it would be powered because it's not even wired...

i took some pictures because i also found some loose wires dangling around in there

if anybody knows where to find a guide on installing a cigarette lighter or where the fuse is located on the fuse box please let me know!

I drive a 95 Prelude S

The Cigarette Lighter has a Relay in the Under Dash Fuse Box.
It's the Top Middle Relay. [] [] []
Fuse Number 18, 10A - Stereo radio/cassette player, cigarette lighter.

Under Hood Fuse Box: Fuse Number 46, 15A - Ceiling light, cigarette lighter relay, trunk light, ignition key light.

I forgot what the color it is, but if I'm reading the manual correct, it might be WHT/RED.
The wire coming from the fuse box it supposed to be YEL/RED though.

I'll try to go out to my car here in a second and check..

None of the plugs/wires I see in your picture seem to be for the Cigarette Lighter.

Mine is a four-wire plug coming to and from the Cigarette Lighter (Meaning there is a plug coming off the Cigarette Lighter and one from the dash harness.).

The wires are: RED, BLK, RED/BLK, WHT/BLU.

thanks for all the help, but i still need to figure out how to rewire this.... lol

i'm thinking about hitting up a radioshack and picking up a 12v cig lighter

i've read about this guy with a 5th gen prelude that just took the yellow wire connected to his ignition and spliced it into the wiring the cig lighter took... so that when he turned off the car, it would shut off (for his sat nav)
i figure that might be pretty useful considering i'm probably going to use mine for the same thing, give or take my ipod adapter...

only reason why i'm thinking i should do this is cause i don't see the "4 wire" thing anywhere...

any insight??

Is there a 4-Wire Plug coming off your Cigarette Lighter?

I don't know about the 5thGens, but the 4thGen Cigarette Lighter does not function when the car is off.. You have to turn the key on for it to get power..

You have a lot of wires there that I don't know what they are going to or where they're coming from.. Specially the bare wires...

I can't tell what all those extra wires are for. Can you take a picture but not so close up?

In this picture at the bottom right there is a plug that is light gray that should be plugged into the cigarette lighter. I have no idea what all the other crap installed is. Once that plug is in you should have power if not then a fuse is blown or have some wiring issues.
