I have a 93 si, with Intake, Header, Exhaust, Pullies, and Wires&Plugs. I have heard from other sources that the H23 is detuned by the ECU. I just wanted to find out if the chip adds a decent amount of horsepower for the money? Also what exactly does a chipped ECU do, and should I replace my stock ECU, or have my stock one chipped.
Usually you only want to chip if you have Vtec and lots of work done. Because with chips you can raise the rev limitor, get more aggresive fuel maps ect.. And with your mods the Si's run out of power at around 6200 so i would bother with a chip, would prob wouldnt notice anything

A person that I know with a 95' Vtec says that the H23 are detuned. I just wanted to check with you all to see if you thought the same thing. I dont know what kind of chip I would get, or where i would get it done. But I just wanted to see if it was worth it.

ya thats a good idea, ive seen an Si at the track gain like .3 on a 1/8 track with that mod, and he was running on a very ****ty track and still ran low-mid 15's.

Yes, as F&F said, that's a good idea.

I was thinking about the AFC, but about how much horsepower will i gain out of that expensive peice. And whats involved when you dyno tune your car. Does anyone know a good place to do that in northern virginia.
