How did you find that picture. I would like to see if they have any other JDM options that were available.

the control unit has 6 different modes...

1. Jazz Club
2. Studio
3. Hall
4. Stadium
5. Church
6. Lounge

it also has cd controls & eq. there was also a built in car tv that could be used with the DSP. it was a dealer option. the screen was placed next to the clock, there was a second antenna on the rear for it and also little remote conrol. good luck on finding a jdm unit. you're better off fabricating your own.

go on yahoo japan and there's tons of stuff. oh yeah, understanding japanese would help. what kinds of options were you interested in. usdm preludes got the really short end of the stick when it came to options & standard equipment. (in case you hadn't already realized it )

the center channel will be better used when digital radio becomes larger, of course digital radio isn't truly digital but thats a different issue altogether. but as it is the center channel can still be effectively used, its two speakers so if they are slightly angled in opposite directions they will work nicely to help heighten the front stage.

center speaker

I just recently joined hondaprelude.com and preludeonline.com...so i'm sure someone might get offended at me and go "who is this arrogant asshole, he doesn't know anything," but anywayz....that aside, I may not know as much as the experts in this forum about cars...but I do know audio pretty well..........and so here's my 5000 rubles on the subject.....

a center speaker in a car will enhance the image greatly or make it retarded, depending on what decoding mode is used....because the #1 problem with car speakers (in my opinion) is the soundstage and imaging (because the speakers are like near your knees, and even if the tweeters are pointing at your ears like many speakers allow you to, it still sounds odd.......) so a center channel speaker decoded in let's say the simplest dolby pro-logic(a format that can be decoded from ANY analog 2 channel source, unlike dolby digital etc etc..) will produce frequencies that are common to BOTH channels, while the left and right speakers will produce frequencies that are unique to each....as a result you have a soundstage that is more "centered" which is how it SHOULD be...your rear passengers will notice this the most, since you're sitting to the left, so you'll still think it sounds different from a home "sweet spot" setup, but it will definitely improve. As for dolby digital, etc etc...that stuff is stupid for music......
I think a center channel would be good if you had a dolby pro-logic, or a 5-channel stereo decoder(only good for like club or rap where the image doesn't matter).....otherwise, what's the f****ing point of having a center speaker?

Okay to explain the DSP modes....all those modes do is adjust the echo and reverb effects differently, I believe...your computer's "soundblaster" card does the SAME EXACT Thing, but ahve you ever even USED any of the other 50000 different reverb settings? NO, because NOONE likes to hear the music reverbing off their bathroom tiles, or a simulated cave......it sounds like its trying to come out of your a**, (to use a russian expression).....there's a reason there's only 2 channels, and that's cuz you only have 2 ears...and since all they need to do is recreate the FRONT soundstage...(as in you're facing the band)...there's no need for like 9.1 format like everyone is getting excited about....if you wanna feel like you're in the twilight zone and listen to crystal method all the time.....then by all means have some mushrooms, install a dsp, some geiss(winamp plugin on an LCD....and ) 9 speakers everywhere....then find a desolate road with a cliff at the end of of it, and floor it blasting your 9.1 system.....i'm sure god will step in, and help you leave this universe.......for the rest of us....trust me....stick with regular 2 channel audio........there's a reason the best speakers are not sold in 5-channel bundles, but in 2 channel sets.
